A Little Monetization

Blogging Add comments
Added A Little Monetization

So I decided that I would add a few more possibilities of bringing in some income from this blog today. To me, this is just a side feature of what I am blogging for. I’m blogging for my readers and for myself. The opportunity to make money from it is just a side bonus!

Although I have added more ad links and such on my site, I think I did it in a very non-obtrusive way. If you are in single view, each post will have a google adsense banner placed at the bottom of it. On the main screen, every other ad will have a google adsense banner at the bottom. Other than that, all I did was I increased the number of monetary links in my Credits & Plugs sidebar section.

Please let me know if you find any of this to be annoying or if you have any comments or compliments about these changes at all. After all, I’m more interested in you than I am anything else.

They might blend better without the border and making the link color the same as your navigation links. Good luck.

Hey Natron! Yeah, I was kind of up in the air on should I border it and make it obvious, or should I white-it-out & blend it in. Your comment cinched it for me, so I have removed the border. Thanks for the comment and stopping by!

Google says that, ads that match your site’s design, earn better!

As a new visitor, I don’t find them annoying at all.

I think it looks just fine! Not obtrusive. It’s good.

I wouldn’t have noticed the change if you didn’t post about it. Is the content-link new on this website? Never noticed it before. It must be because there’s a lot of them in that one post. But yeah, those are the only type of advertisements that I find obtrusive, out of all kinds of web advertisements. But that doesn’t stop me from reading your blog. I just keep my mouse off to the side :P

Personally though, I’ve placed Google ads on all websites I made. After the first $100 was sent to me, it drastically slowed down. It’s been 6+ months now since my first $100 and still only like $5 accumulated =/

The content links are not new - that used to be the only thing I really had going. I like having them, but agree that sometimes they can really be distracting, thats why although I do have them, I switched their color to be the same as the text. So they are there if somebody wants to use them, but not so distracting.

I think that, if you’re going to monitze your site, you should do it all the way - but it should be overwhelming!

Hey, this is off topic but where’s your “Contact” page? Cuz you’ve been tagged over at my site.

I guess I have always liked an “open forum” kind of public contact through comments.

But with a couple of recent comments, I think I will implement one.

Thank you for tagging me!

Hello! I think that ads are in a good position and they aren’t obtrusive. I’m waiting to have a little more traffic to put ads in my blog. Good Luck. See you. ;)
