I agree. Videogames are not to be blamed. If anything I would think hatred is caused by people. Or there could be the odd chance that the person was just crazy, as you said.

The worst thing a videogame could do, in my opinion, is if you're slightly crazy or you have a lot of hate built in, and you start to shoot people, you won't stop because with realistic games, it might look like exactly like what you've always done in first person games. But even then, I doubt someone who starts shooting but has never played videogames will stop and realize what they've done.

I think people blame video games because they are easy targets - there is violence in most games, and there for, you play them and you become violent!

I have been playing video games my entire life, and I have no desire to go and kill anything.

I guarantee that, if porn was violent, then it would be the cause of evil thoughts. While I don't condone porn, it's an easy target for the right wing...

Well, I do agree with you that this guy was off his rocker in a big way. And I also share in your thought of stopping the blame game. But there is one part of me that sees video games as having some influence in this matter and other matters regarding our children today.

My opinion is that if the government and educational facilities invest so much into "training" their people with electronic simulations, then video games are, to some degree, are other side of the same coin.

Not that I'm damning video games by any means, but I do think some video game makers out there have crossed the line between good and bad for the sake of standing out in the crowd and making a bigger buck than their competition. And that effort has eroded society's morals.

Again, not blaming video games, but they can't be ignored with their influence.
